The Red Carpet: 2009 Primetime Emmy’s

With True Blood over, I had to fill the void of Sunday night television with something. Lucky for me the 2009 Primetime Emmy’s were on and the stars were seriously shining. At one point, Doogie Howser was dappered out in a snow white Tuxedo Jacket as the shows host.

And he wasn’t the only one all dressed in white and looking right. Unlike the jewel tones of 2008 that ruled the Emmy red carpet, starlets seemed to keep it simple this year in neutral tones including black, white, peach, tans and ivories.

Also detected were various shades of red. Especially on lips.

January Jones murdered it. Looking absolutely undeniable in a Versace Atelier gown paired with accessories by Neil Lane. The futuristic detailing on the bodice of the gown seen in geometric shapes was not only magnificent but unique and the winner on stage and on the red carpet.

Tied with a very pregnant Heidi Klum who showed up with her dazzling accessories Seal and a set of gorgeous Lorraine Schwartz jewelry which included rubies and a diamond encrusted snake ring. Her bump served as an added treat delightfully wrapped in a skin tight black mermaid cut Marchesa gown that trailed slightly .

Other favorites were Kate Walsh(J. Mendel), Mary Louise Parker who separated herself in a chic plum mini Zac Posen dress in opposition to the sea of full length gowns, Mariska Hargitay(Carolina Herrera), surprisingly Tina Fey(Gucci), and Drew Barrymore (Monique Lhuiller).

Losers(the same list of usual suspects) included Kim Kardashian, who showed up in an all white disaster that she must have picked out of J-Lo’s Beverly Hills dumpster. Hayden Pantierre, who always comes close but just cant quite nail a put together ensemble. And of course, Pam Beezley. She hit the red carpet in a slouchy dumpy gown that may have looked fabulous on someone else, but just got lost in translation on her.

These looks can all be seen in detail on either People.com or Eonline.com.

This outfit is Bananas.

Often my inspiration, Riri looks absolutely fab in this Christopher Kane "Gorilla" Jersey Dress.

She chose to pair the dress with Gladiator style leather cut out sandals and a delectably gaudy chunky gold chain. The decision makes sense with the exaggerated gorilla graphic.

The dress is all yours starting at $1,195 and comes in different variations that are priced much higher.
